SODELPA MP and former Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa says when she was the Opposition Leader she noticed misogyny and discrimination in action.

She was one of the guest speakers during the Weta Coffee Talanoa Tuesday yesterday.

Ro Teimumu says now she is an ordinary member of parliament and she does not see it.

The Gone Marama Bale na Roko Tui Dreketi says when women come towards leadership roles that is what happens.

She adds it is worse now with social media as it does not come right on your face but with remarks made towards women leaders.

Ro Teimumu also says that it is very good that after the last elections, 10 women MPs made it into parliament.

She adds that she is happy with the merit system being used now however she says to encourage more women to participate in politics, Fiji needs to have a certain amount of seats reserved for women.
