Acting Commissioner Northern, Uraia Rainima says they are prepared for Tropical Cyclone Tino and evacuation centres are on standby if they are needed.
Rainima says they have been monitoring the weather situation since last night.
He adds their teams are also on standby to assist anyone who may require it.
He is urging parents and guardians to take heed of warnings and keep their family safe during this time.
