The Chairman of Food Processors Fiji Limited, Raj Sharma says they are seriously looking at increasing the number of suppliers that provide them with agricultural products.
He says currently the suppliers are limited to the Eastern parts of Viti Levu and they are now looking at suppliers from the West and North.
Sharma says there are around 200 farmers that are consistently providing agricultural products to Food Processors Fiji Limited while there are around 150 contracted farmers that also supply food items.
He says they need more farmers to come forward and supply quality vegetables and root crops for processing.
Sharma says Food Processors Fiji Limited’s annual sale is around $3.6 million which includes around $1 million of local sales.
Sharma adds they are working with major supermarket chains to become part of their distribution arm.
