Weightlifting Fiji secures 12 medals at the Oceania Weightlifting Championship

Weightlifting Fiji secures 12 medals at the Oceania Weightlifting Championship

The Fiji Weight-lifting team recorded an impressive medal haul during the Oceania Weightlifting Under 23, Junior, and Youth Championships winning a total of 12 medals from the 13 athletes that represented Fiji at the tournament.

Apakuki Tabuwaiwai won silver in the men's under 23 division, Nehemiah Elder won gold in the 81kg category and Daniel Shaw won silver in the men’s 81kg category.

Zion Tokona won 1 gold and 2 bronze in the men's 96kg category.

Miriama Taletawa won 2 bronze medals, Sinate Savou won 2 gold medals, and 1 bronze and Jordan Turagasau secured 1 gold in the men's super heavyweight category.

In a statement, Weightlifting Fiji says this achievement exceeded expectations and demonstrated the team's determination and resilience in the face of financial challenges.
