We will have to make some very hard choices - Naidu

We really need to get our house in order and that is very challenging.

That is the view of prominent Suva lawyer, Richard Naidu who is the Chairperson of the 2023 Fiscal Review Committee and adds that they will have to make some very hard choices.

Naidu says the Committee will be calling for submissions from people soon and the idea is to be inclusive of everyone, including those who do not pay taxes.

He adds Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad is very concerned about debt.

Naidu further says the idea is for the Fiscal Review Committee is for outsiders to have a look at government’s fiscal policies, how government raises money and how much it spends the funds.
