We will have to confront drug kingpins - Naivalurua

Newly appointed Minister for Policing Ioane Naivalurua

Drug kingpins is a big issue and that's one of the major fronts that we will have to confront.

Newly appointed Minister for Policing, Ioane Naivalurua highlighted this to fijivillage News when asked on how will they look into the drug issues as many drug kingpins have not been arrested.

Naivalurua says a more effective plan is required to fight drugs and they have a few ideas but it needs to be discussed with the other key agencies.

The Minister for Policing says the key issue right now is about the operational effectiveness of the Fiji Police Force.

He is expected to have a briefing next week to determine whether the Force has been effective or not.

He will also meet the incoming Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu during the briefing.
