We started playing as individuals and we lost sight of our strengths - Cotter
Vodafone Flying Fijians coach Vern Cotter

Vodafone Flying Fijians coach Vern Cotter says it’s disappointing that we could not rise to the challenge that Australia A offered s as we complicated things by not sticking to the simple things and doing them well.

Cotter says he believed that Fiji still had a chance to win with 15 minutes remaining in the game but the players lost sight of their strengths and started playing as individuals.

Cotter says the 32-18 loss to Australia A really hurt them as they lost a lot of possession, struggled to take kick offs and inaccurate and inconsistent in what they did.

The coach says the team needs to present themselves in the best manner against Samoa and they have week to get it right.

The Flying Fijians will take on Samoa in their must-win final Pacific Nations Cup match at 3.30pm on Saturday at Churchill Park.
