We have put ourselves in an opportunity to win the 7s Series – Gollings

Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Coach Ben Gollings says they have put themselves in an opportunity to win the 7s Series at the LA 7s.

Gollings says it will be wrong of them of not trying to achieve that.

Fiji will need a miracle to win the HSBC 7s Series in Los Angeles this weekend.

Fiji, South Africa, Australia and Argentina are all in contention.

Thanks to the COVID-specific points system that applies to the current season, each team’s end of season total is calculated by taking their best seven results from across the year.

Fiji who are fourth on 104 points must claim gold in LA and hope South Africa finish seventh or lower and Australia gain no more than 15 points.

Fiji will play Wales in their first pool game at 6.10am Sunday, they will then play France at 9.31am Sunday and their final pool game is against Ireland at 1.05pm Sunday.

The cup quarters will start at 5.13am Monday, the cup semis will start at 9.09am Monday while the cup final will start at 12.28pm Monday.

You can catch the live commentaries of Fiji’s games with our commentators, Fred Raiwalui and former Fijiana flanker Mere Moto on Viti FM on 92, 92.2 and 92.6 FM.
