We have not changed the policy in relation to picking and dropping health staff during odd hours - Waqainabete
Health Minister Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete

Health Minister Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete confirms that they have not changed the policy in relation to the picking and dropping of health staff, especially nurses during odd hours.

However, Waqainabete says since there have been significant salary increases, they are encouraging doctors to use their own vehicles to come to work.

Waqainabete says the transportation provided by government is a privilege and this is to ensure that health staff, especially nurses are safe during the odd hours of the night.

He says most of the nurses are women and it was found that by providing transportation at odd hours will ensure that they will be safe.
