We have learnt to have an escalation & de-escalation plan to reduce wastage and unnecessary expenditure- Dr Fong

Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor James Fong says a lesson they have learned is that there has to be an escalation and de-escalation plan in every facet in order for them to be able to manage and reduce wastage and unnecessary expenditure.

While presenting before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts on audits relating to COVID-19 Response, Doctor Fong says the escalation and de-escalation plan has to sit within a set of triggers that can allow them to deal with it in a timely manner.

Doctor Fong says they also have two functional units that they have developed which is FEMAT and the Border Health Protection Unit.
