We have followed the particular tender process with ADB and no longer want to follow it - AG
Minister of Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum

We have followed the particular tender process with ADB and no longer want to follow it as they need to look at quality and not the cheapest tender for roads.

This was earlier highlighted by the Minister of Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum during debate in parliament on the review of the Local Government Ministry’s Annual Reports for 2015-2018.

He adds the Construction Implementation Unit is a much bigger organization and they handle much bigger contracts and also questions if the tender should be given to the cheapest tender.

Sayed-Khaiyum adds it's not an easy issue, as they may have so many tenders for work, and $7 million may be the cheapest and the next cheapest could be $11 million.

We have sent questions to the ADB.
