Digicel Fiji says they continued to provide network service to their customers during the face of Category 5 Tropical Cyclone Yasa and were the only means of communication for many mobile users in Vanua Levu at the height of the cyclone.

CEO, Farid Mohammed says despite the heavy rain and destructive winds, their network was operational in most parts of Vanua Levu.

However he says there are some damages to their cell sites in Vanua Levu and services are disrupted in isolated areas of Labasa, Bua and Savusavu.

Mohammed says their technical teams are on the ground in Vanua Levu and trying to restore services to affected customers.

He says Digicel understands the importance of staying in touch with families during these difficult times.
