Is it acceptable for the Police to arrive at a crime scene about an hour after an incident had occurred?
This issue has emerged after the director of Nippon Trading in Waimanu Road confirmed to Fijivillage that he called the Police at 4.35pm yesterday after a robbery at his shop but he said Police officers arrived at the scene after 5.30pm yesterday.
He has also told us that he had to make a number of calls to Totogo Police Station as there was no answer when he called 919 a few times after the robbery.
The Police Force’s Chief Operations Officer, ACP Henry Brown told us earlier this afternoon that Police were involved in a number of strategic activities to apprehend the robbers.
ACP Brown said improvements can be made on the response time.
He said they do analyze how the Police respond to different situations.
Meanwhile the stolen taxi used by the robbers was found abandoned in Raiwaqa.
The suspects were still at large earlier today and Police say they will update us when they get the information.
