Minister for Education Rosy Akbar says they are on track to provide assistance to 6000 students in Tropical Cyclone Yasa affected areas.

The Ministry is working with the Fiji Teachers Union, Fiji Muslim League, Sathya Sai Service Organisation of Fiji, Yaadein Vision, SODELPA, Forklift Fiji and TISI Sangam to provide students with school bags and stationery.

Akbar says they have received a lot of support from their stakeholders and the organisations have been going in affected communities to start distribution.

She has encouraged parents to send their children to school and not get into panic buying.

Akbar has also acknowledged the support they have received from their stakeholders.

Students start school next Tuesday.
