Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the elections preparations are on track for Fiji and we will go to the polls in September 2014.
Sayed-Khaiyum said the first phase of preparations is to ensure that all the eligible voters are registered and this process will start from January next year.
Sayed-Khaiyum said the government is hoping to confirm the supplier of the electronic voter registration system by the end of this year after the tenders are received on the 7th of next month.
He said they have certain options to ensure that the identification of voters is made easy.
Six months will be allocated for voter registration and the government expects registration to be completed by the 30th of June next year.
Sayed-Khaiyum said people who turn 18 before the September 2014 elections will be eligible to vote.
He said details on the expressions of interest for the electronic voter registration will also be submitted to the various heads of diplomatic missions and multilateral organizations.
