Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney has retired from football.

He will now be the full time manager of Championship side Derby County after being the interim manager since last November.

Rooney made his professional debut for Everton in 2002 and moved to Manchester United in 2004.

During 13 years with United he won the Premier League five times, the Champions League, the FA Cup and three League Cups.

Rooney retires as the second-highest goalscorer in Premier League history with 208 goals.
