A number of water infrastructure works are expected to be undertaken this year to improve water supply to areas in Suva, Delainavesi, Lami and Nasinu.
Water Authority of Fiji Chairman John Prasad said $68 million has been allocated for improving the water supply system in 2010 and a further $23 million has been given to work on specific emergency areas.
Prasad said initial work is starting in a number of areas.
Prasad said works will start off on the new piping works for the Delainavesi and Lami areas sometime in June and is expected to be completed in 12 months time.
