Water restoration progresses according to plan while restoration in elevated parts to take longer

The Water Authority of Fiji says restoration of water supply is progressing as planned along the Suva to Nausori corridor however restoration in elevated areas may take longer and they may experience intermittent supply due to usage and reservoir levels.

The Authority is urging customers who have water, to use water sparingly as excessive usage impacts full restoration.

People living in these elevated areas are being urged to store water for their immediate needs and to expect interruptions in supply for at least the next two days.

10 water cartage trucks are currently running and have been assigned to provide relief to the affected areas.

People can also dial 1507 and 5777 for water carting requests.

The Authority says approximately 80% of supply has been restored to Nausori and 50% in areas in Suva.

They say teams are working around the clock to restore full water supply.
