Labasa celebrate their CVC win over Suva

Veteran Labasa midfielder Taniela Waqa and striker Marlon Tahioa have dedicated the Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion victory over Suva to the people of Labasa who have been severely affected by Tropical Cyclones Yasa and Ana.

Waqa came in as a substitute in the second half and scored the winning goal in the 39th minute as Labasa won 2-1 while Tahioa had scored the first goal in the first half.

Waqa says this win has given them a platform to achieve their goal of winning the Vodafone Premier League.

Solomon Islander Tahioa says it means the world to him as he won his first trophy in his debut for Labasa.

Tahioa says he also dedicates this win to his family for their continued support and adds the win in the CVC is just a start.

Labasa will now face Ba in the first round of the Vodafone Premier League.
