The Water Authority of Fiji is now making an assessment through the assistance of the Asian Development Bank funded engineers to determine proper water pressure management distribution in the Lami, Suva, Nasinu to Nausori areas.
Acting Chief Executive Officer Opetaia Ravai said the assessment will also determine whether Fiji’s current water infrastructure is in the right place to provide adequate supply to the population.
Fijivillage has questioned Ravai when these issues will be fixed and the time-line set to solve the issue in relation to about 40% of the piped water produced being wasted.
The huge wastage is due to leaking pipelines, illegal water connections and old water meters not registering the right amount of water being supplied.
The water problems have been mentioned a number of times but we asked Ravai when it would be fixed.
He assured the people living in Delainavesi and other areas that they will not face most of these problems by the end of this year.
