WAF completes repair works to bulk main, water disruptions to continue till tomorrow morning in Nausori, Nasinu and Suva

The Water Authority of Fiji has completed repair works to the bulk main, which feeds treated water from the Waila Water Treatment Plant to the Wainibuku main distribution reservoir however tens of thousands of people living in parts of Nausori, Nasinu and Suva will continue to experience water supply disruptions till tomorrow morning.

The Authority says this is because it may take several hours to pressurise the pipelines as they try to get the water to reach the reservoir.

The Authority says the low lying areas will first start to get water but with low pressure.

It says some elevated areas in Samabula too are affected as water in the reservoir must have reached the lowest point.

The Authority says a total of 15 water carting trucks have been deployed to service the affected areas. People can call on WAF’s toll-free line 1507 if they need water carting trucks in their areas.

The Water Authority of Fiji had earlier said that water supply is expected to normalise by 6 o’clock tomorrow morning.

Affected areas include Koronivia, Davuilevu, Wainibuku Road, Naulu, Nakasi, Makoi, Nepani, Narere, Navosai, Valelevu, Nadawa, Ratu Dovi Road, Nadera, Caubati, Kinoya, Tacirua, Dokanaisuva, Colo-i-Suva, Laucala Beach, Raiwaqa, Raiwai, Nasese, Flagstaff, Victoria Parade and Knolly Street.

Most of these areas have not received any water since last night.
