An up-close encounter with the world’s best club rugby outfit has only empowered NRL convert Suliasi Vunivalu.

The Queensland Reds winger was one of the few bright spots in a record 63-28 thumping from the Crusaders last Saturday.

Vunivalu, who described the Crusaders as a “champion side … playing a different game”, had every excuse to feel uncomfortable given he’s already playing a different game.

But, ahead of Saturday’s clash with the Chiefs and with a test debut against France in July beckoning, Vunivalu walked away pleased it is starting to come naturally.

The Chiefs will play the Reds at 9.45pm Saturday.

In other matches, the Hurricanes will take on the Western Force at 7.05pm Friday, the Waratahs will host the Crusaders at 5.05pm Saturday, the Blues will face the Brumbies at 7.15pm Saturday while the Highlanders are scheduled to meet the Rebels at 2.35pm Sunday.
