The Digicel Fiji 7s team has been hit with an injury cloud ahead of their second pool game in the Hong Kong 7s against Russia at 5.26pm this afternoon.
Former captain Emosi Vucago suffered an injury to his leg when he came on as a replacement for Nikola Matawalu in last night’s 59-0 win against Malaysia.
Manager Talemo Waqa has confirmed that the coaching staff is working overtime to see whether Vucago will be available for this afternoon’s pool game.
Waqa added that they will not take the risk of allowing a player who is injured to play in the crucial games and will try out Vucago before tomorrow’s do or die games.
Meanwhile, Waqa said it is highly likely that Waqabaca Kotobalavu and Ilai Tinai who did not play last night, are expected to feature this afternoon.
Fiji will take on Russia at 5.26pm and Kenya at 9.50pm.
Last night, Russia upset Kenya 22-5, Australia thumped Zimbabwe 42-0, South Africa defeated Spain 33-5, Samoa beat Mexico 64-0, and England hammered China 59-5.
