Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says voting and counting processes for the 2022 General Elections will be done manually.

Saneem says there is no electronic voting system in the pipeline at all.

He further reiterates that no computer will be involved in these processes.


The 2022 General Elections can take place anytime from 9th July 2022 to 9th January 2023.

Saneem also says that as at 30th June 2021, the total number of voters in the National Register of Voters stands at 651,168.

He says in preparation for the 2022 General Elections, the Elections Office will officially conduct 3 rounds of voter list verification directly with agencies on the ground such as the Turaga-ni-Koro and area advisory councillors.
