Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo has condemned the assault of civil servants and the stoning of a government vehicle in Vusasivo, Cakaudrove.

Vosarogo is calling the act “totally unacceptable" and he urged respect for civil servants, warning that such behaviour will not be tolerated and that those responsible will face legal action.

He also emphasized the importance of protecting government workers, including nurses, doctors, and teachers who serve the public.

Vosarogo adds police have been directed to investigate and make arrests and advised civil servants to request police escorts if they feel unsafe while on duty.

He also extended well wishes to the injured officers, confirming that most have been treated and discharged, while one remains under medical care.

Vosarogo reaffirms the Government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all civil servants and maintaining respect for public service.
