Visitor arrivals for Oct 2022 stands at 90.6% of Oct 2019 levels, current trends show that this year’s target will be surpassed

Visitor arrivals for October was 70,152 which is 90.6 percent of October 2019 levels (pre COVID).

The Fiji Bureau of Statistics says the October 2022 arrivals is a decrease of 3.4 percent compared to September 2022.

On a cumulative basis from January to October, visitor arrivals is 497,086.

This is 66.1 percent of arrivals in the same period of 2019.

Australian arrivals is 102 percent of pre COVID levels, New Zealand is 103 percent and USA 91.3 percent of October 2019 levels.

According to assessments, if we receive 90 percent of 2019 arrivals in November and December, we will record 624,939 visitors (70 percent of 2019).

This will surpass the current forecast of 581,353 which is 65 percent of 2019 levels or 43,586 more visitors.
