A vibrant reception marking Visit Malaysia 2026: Taste of Malaysia – Discover Malaysia Through Every Bite was held today at the Malaysian High Commissioner's residence in Suva.

This event focused on celebrating Malaysia’s culinary heritage and strengthening ties with Fiji and Acting Prime Minister, Filimoni Vosarogo was also in attendance.

Malaysia’s High Commissioner, Nor' Azam Mohd Idrus says his team poured their hearts into preparing the dishes, describing each as a labour of love that captures the flavours and memories of home.

He assures guests that the food served will not contribute to Fiji’s NCD statistics adding a light-hearted touch to the occasion.

He highlights that the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign aims to welcome 47 million visitors and generate USD$35.54 billion in tourism revenue.

He further notes that beyond tourism figures, the initiative is about celebrating Malaysia’s warmth, diversity, and hospitality.

The High Commissioner also reflects on the long-standing friendship between Malaysia and Fiji, saying the bond runs deep forged long before either of us became independent nations and continues to inspire stronger diplomatic and cultural connections between the two countries.
