Former FijiFirst MP Vijendra Prakash has been found guilty of charges of giving false information to a public servant and obtaining financial advantage.

Prakash falsely stated that his permanent place of residence was in Waidracia, Vunidawa, Nabuni, Naluwai, Naitasiri and allegedly obtained $33,670.00 between August 2019 and March 2020.

The High Court ruled that the prosecution have proven their case beyond reasonable doubt and found Prakash to be guilty on both counts.

The case will be called again for mitigation and sentencing on the 26th of January next year.
