Supreme Fuel Fiji Limited has taken full responsibility for the damages some vehicles have sustained after fuelling up diesel from its Mead Road fuel station.
Managing Director Rajesh Patel confirms that water had entered their diesel tank yesterday and this resulted due to the negligence of their staff.
He says the lid for the tank was not properly closed which allowed the water to go in the diesel tank during the heavy downpour on Saturday.
Patel says they are aware of five vehicles that were affected as the incident occurred between 12 to 12.30pm on Saturday.
He says they have fixed two vehicles and three other vehicles will be attended to in the next few days.
Patel says they will bear all costs associated in getting the vehicles fixed and the initial cost is around $10,000.
