Vanua Levu is vulnerable to Climate Change - Chand

Labasa’s Special Administrator says Vanua Levu is vulnerable to Climate Change and we must do what we can to protect our natural resources.

Speaking at the National Ozone Week Celebrations 2016 at the Labasa Civic Centre, Vijay Chand says everyday people from around the world come to enjoy the beautiful place Fiji calls home which is why it is imperative for the people to protect the environment.

Chand says small things that people do today will change the lives of people, especially in Labasa and Savusavu.

He adds that previously they held Climate Change workshops with Customs, air-condition and refrigeration teams, and also Bio Security officers.

Meanwhile, Chand thanked the staff of the Department of Environment for visiting schools in Labasa and Savusavu and educating the children about the effects of climate change.

He also thanked everyone who contributed to reducing the effects of climates change.
