Vakaloloma seeks reconciliation in bus driver assault case
Australian resident Tajini Vakaloloma

Australian resident Tajini Vakaloloma remains remanded in custody after appearing in court today for allegedly assaulting a Cityline bus driver last Thursday.

Vakaloloma’s lawyer told the court his client wants to reconcile with the complainant, who is the bus driver involved in the assault case.

The lawyer also stated that Vakaloloma is willing to pay the compensation amount ordered by the court.

The Magistrate told the prosecutor to serve a summons on the complainant to confirm whether he is willing to proceed with reconciliation and to also be in court on Friday.

The Magistrate also gave the prosecutor two days to reach out to the complainant and resolve the matter.

The prosecutor informed the court that the complainant is from Bangladesh and is in Fiji on a work visa.

The case has been adjourned to Friday at the Nasinu Magistrates Court
