United Kingdom High Commission grant to FEO to enhance electoral capacities in Fiji - Saneem

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem and UK High Commissioner, Dr Brian James Jones.

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says a grant agreement signed today between the United Kingdom High Commission and the Fijian Elections Office will enhance and build the electoral capacities in Fiji and expose more Fijians from ordinary life to the election operations and programs that are in Fiji, so people can understand the electoral process better.

Saneem says being a very young democracy, Fiji needs to up-skill its citizens into the electoral processes more in detail rather than just surface level so that people understand the electoral system in detail and can assist other members of the society.

He says the benefits of the Fijian system visitor programs will allow regional island countries including Australia and New Zealand to have a wider knowledge of comparative learning of the elections system in Fiji, to share experiences and learn analysis and reviews from others on a very equal platform.
