Underage drinking a concern as holidays near
As the school year draws to an end, concerns have been raised on the possibility of teenage binge drinking.

Fijivillage has noticed that many school students as young as fifteen years old have organized house parties or gather in drinking groups as part of their celebrations to mark the end of the school year.

This has prompted Adolescent Health project officer Sister Sulueti Duvaga to reveal that it is during this time that there is an increase in the number of drug abuse and sexually transmitted diseases.

Duvaga said this is the trend as most youths are out of school and tend to follow their peers.

Duvaga said it is important for parents to supervise their children.
