Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori could have a new home in the future as the land lease is expiring in 2028 and there are indications that the landowners have no intention to renew it for Nausori Town Council.

Questions are being asked on happens if the lease is not renewed and if the government will step in to secure it.

While responding to questions by fijivillage News, Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa says there are options the Nausori Town Council is considering right now as they have been offered a piece of land with a development lease in Manoca, Nausori.

He says if the discussion with the landowners does not go through, there are other options the Council will have to consider.

Land owners had earlier indicated they had plans to construct a complex at the site and were in talks for funding the project.
