Ultimatum given on school bus timings
Students who do not board their school buses by 4.30 every afternoon and travel by the labour buses will be counted as adults.

Works Ministry Spokesperson Sainiana Radrodro said bus services are expected to complete their bus provision for students by 4.30 every afternoon and anything above or beyond that will be counted as adults when they are boarding labour buses.

She said that if the fare is more than the allocated amount then the student will have to produce a voucher if they are being assisted and they will have to complete the remainder of the fare to make up for the adult fare.

She also clarified that for students whose schools do not have special school buses, they will be allowed to travel in labour buses and bus vouchers will be accepted.

Meanwhile Parents whose children are under the government’s bus fare program will have to fork out money for their children if their bus fare exceeds 80 cents for one way.

Radrodro said the assistance provided by the government under the bus fare program is up to only 80 cents for one way and anything beyond that will have to be met by parents.
