Uciwai families demand water carting trucks after being without running water for a week

More than 10 families in Uciwai, Nadi are demanding the Water Authority of Fiji to provide them with at least water carting trucks if they cannot provide running water as they have been without running water since last Tuesday.

Resident, Asha Devi says this is an ongoing issue she has been facing since she moved to the area more than 20 years ago.

Devi says despite calling several times, they do not always get water carting trucks and have to wait days to get their water tanks filled.

She says WAF only provides them with 2,000 litres of water when they do and this is not enough for their family of 8 adults.

Devi says they pay their bills on time but the fact that they do not get running water most of the time is frustrating.

She says the last government did not do anything and unfortunately, this government isn’t doing anything either.

Questions have been sent to the Water Authority of Fiji. They are yet to respond.
