Access has been cut off for more than 200 families as the Uciwai Bridge in Nadi has been damaged after yesterday’s flooding.

Nadi Town resident, Anand Sami Kumar says residents from Amgali Settlement, Uciwai and Nabila Village use the bridge to come to Nadi Town.

Kumar adds they use this road to either go to work and school or transport their produce to the market.

Fiji Roads Authority CEO, Kamal Prasad confirms construction works could begin as early as this afternoon but it will depend on the availability of materials.
