UNICEF’s Pacific Deputy Representative Vathinee Jitjaturunt says from next week they will be providing psycho-social training in schools.

Jitjaturunt says they will be training teachers in schools in the Northern Division to provide support to children.

She adds they also provide orientation to parents on the tips to help support their children cope with stress caused by COVID-19 and Tropical Cyclone Yasa.

Jitjaturunt says they are providing early childhood development kits, school tents, tarpaulins, and school-in-a-box kits which include books, pencils and teaching materials.

She further says they are working with the Ministry of Education to ensure that schools are ready to welcome students next Tuesday.
