Two men in custody for allegedly stealing sound equipment from temple

Two men are in police custody for their alleged involvement in a sacrilege case in Rakiraki earlier this month.

Police say a raid conducted by officers based at the Rakiraki Criminal Investigations Department in Rewasa led to the arrest of the two suspects.

They also discovered sound equipment allegedly stolen from the temple.

Police say the suspects had allegedly forcefully entered the Dugaputu Mariamman Temple and stolen sound equipment worth more than $1,000.

The two remain in custody as investigations continue.
