Two men charged with aggravated robbery acquitted by the Suva High Court

Two men who were charged with aggravated robbery have been acquitted by the Suva High Court.

It is alleged that Ilimotama Tiko and Taitusi Yalayala robbed a mobile phone worth $100 and $15 cash from a man in June last year.

While giving his judgement Judge, Justice Vinsent Perera said the inconsistencies in the evidence presented by the prosecution together with the fact that the items alleged to have been stolen were not recovered from the two accused creates a strong doubt as to whether the two accused committed the crime.
