Two men are in police custody for their alleged involvement in an early morning robbery at a Lautoka Service Station.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says a report was received after 1am that four armed men had threatened, assaulted the company's security guard and stole cash and assorted items before fleeing in a car.

ACP Khan says roadblocks were erected and a team consisting of the Western Division Task Force, K9 Unit and Crime Scene Investigators were deployed.

The getaway car was later found at Kaleli Settlement and through help from the public, a 26-year-old man was identified as the alleged driver and was taken into custody.

ACP Khan says the second suspect was arrested shortly after and taken into custody.

The investigation team continues to pursue information about the other two suspects and is expected to make arrests soon.
