Two dead after two horrific accident in the last 24-hrs

Two people have passed away following two horrific accidents that occurred in the last 24 hours.

Police say a 23-year-old man from Wainividio, Navua passed away after he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old man along the Tokotoko Highway in Navua.

The incident occurred at 4pm yesterday.

They say the man jumped in front of the suspect’s vehicle resulting in the accident.

The man was taken to the Navua Hospital but was pronounced dead.

In another report, a 46-year-old woman passed away following a motor vehicle accident at Nailaga, Ba.

Police say the victim was being conveyed in an ambulance to the Lautoka Hospital when it is alleged the 40-year-old driver overtook two vehicles and bumped another vehicle driven by a 62-year-old man causing both vehicles to veer off the road.

The victim was rushed to the Ba Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police investigation continues for both cases.

The total road death toll stands at 3, compared to 0 same periods last year.
