Two appear in court for allegedly cultivating 109 plants of marijuana

The Suva High Court has extended the bail for two men who are charged with unlawful cultivation and possession of illicit drugs while a bench warrant has been extended for the third accused.

Vodriti Koli and Peniasi Kali appeared before High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo today.

It is alleged that Koli, Kali and Rupeni Tilakoro planted 109 marijuana plants which were found at their farms and near their homes in Nabulini, Tailevu.

The drugs were found through a raid conducted by police on the 24th and 25th of September in 2018.

The three were also found with drives leaves confirmed to be marijuana.

The case will be called again on the 21st of September.
