Two Police Officers have been assaulted in Police cells in two separate incidents.
Acting Chief of Operations ACP Maretino Qiolevu has strongly condemned the actions and says the people involved will be taken to task.
One incident occurred at a Police Station in Suva while the other incident occurred in Nadi.
In both incidents, the officers went to check on the suspects held in the cells however they were repeatedly punched by the suspects.
Other officers in both incidents in Suva and Nadi came to the rescue of their comrades.
The suspects are under investigation and are expected to be charged with allegedly assaulting police officers.
