Tui Cakau accorded a Vakasenuqanuqa ceremony

The people of Cakaudrove held a Vakasenuqanuqa ceremony this morning and celebrated the appointment of the Tui Cakau, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu as the Speaker of Parliament at the chiefly village of Somosomo, Taveuni.

The Vakasenuqanuqa ceremony is a celebration held for someone who has achieved something great that is recognised highly by their family.

While speaking at the ceremony, Ratu Naiqama, highlighted that Cakaudrove might have been left behind in terms of development, but they are there to serve and not be served.

He says even though 7 members of the Coalition Government hail from the Province of Cakaudrove, they need to work together for the sake of their future generations.

While acknowledging the presence of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, the Tui Cakau says through his humble request, Rabuka accepted to serve one more time for the sake of the future of Fiji.

Ratu Naiqama also acknowledged the presence of Ministers attending the ceremony.
