Trough of low pressure associated with cloud and rain remains slow moving over the country

A trough of low pressure associated with cloud and rain remains slow moving over the country and is expected to affect the country till tomorrow.

It will affect the Northern and Eastern parts of Fiji which include Vanua Levu, Taveuni, nearby smaller islands and the Lau group.

People living in the Western parts of Viti Levu can expect afternoon showers which is likely to become heavy at times.

The flood alert that was previously issued for low-lying areas and areas adjacent to and downstream of major rivers and small streams in Rakiraki, Tavua, Ba and Qawa has been cancelled.

The Nadi Weather Office says water levels in the major rivers and streams in these areas are below alert level.
