A heavy rain and strong wind warning are still in force for Fiji due to a tropical depression.
A tropical depression was located 415km to the west‑northwest of Nadi at 7am today.
The tropical depression is moving south‑southeast at about
15 km/hr and is expected to pass just to the west of Fiji.
The system is not expected to directly affect the group, however, associated cloud and rain bands with strong winds are expected to continue to affect the country.
Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding.
Nadi Weather Office Director Ravin Kumar had highlighted yesterday that there is no real chance at this stage of the system to develop into a tropical cyclone while it’s over the Fiji waters.
