Tropical depression to bring more rain
More rain is expected in the Northern and Eastern parts of the country later today.

A Tropical depression was located about 140 kilometres east northeast of Udu Point at 4am this morning.

It is gradually moving southwards towards Tonga at about 7km/hr.

Weather forecasters say this system is expected to form into a Tropical cyclone in the next 24 to 48 hours however this will not directly affect Fiji.

An associated trough of low pressure with cloud and rain is expected to affect the group.

Occasional rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms is expected for Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Lau Lomaiviti Group and Eastern Viti Levu.
