A tropical depression to the far northwest of Nadi is highly likely to intensify into a tropical cyclone by tonight or early tomorrow morning.
Nadi Weather office is now urging people in the western parts of Viti Levu, Mamanuca, Yasawa group and Kadavu to start taking precaution as the Tropical Depression will start affecting the country from tonight.
Duty Forecaster, Samisoni Waqavakatoga said the Western parts of Viti Levu should expect strong winds up to 45 kilometers per hour with gusts up to 65 kilometers per hour from late tonight.
Waqavakatoga added that the Depression with the trough of low pressure that lies over the country will bring in heavy rain tonight in the eastern and western division of Viti Levu with high possibility of flooding.
