The Nadi Weather Office says the tropical disturbance (TD01F) located about 555 kilometres North East of Udu Point still poses no immediate threat to Fiji and is expected to pass far North of the country.

The chances of the system intensifying into a tropical depression in the next 48 hours and possibly a tropical cyclone by Sunday are high.

A trough of low pressure lies just to the north of Rotuma and is expected to bring rain which can be heavy at times and thunderstorms over the island.
